2014 Ozawa Cup and U.S. Open JIC

Annually in Las Vegas, the 2014 Ozawa Cup and U.S. Open is held which was quite an experience for team FSKA Hawaii. We had 3 student's (Davin, Shaynie and Kona) compete with 30-40 competitors per division and we were able to walk away with 2 Silver Medals and 1 Bronze.

Davin Ogawa - Competed in the beginner 5-7yr old division in both Kata and Kumite. He had over 40 competitors in his division and just missed medaling by 1 place. He did very well against competitors who had 2-3yrs of experience over him and we are all very proud of him.

Shaynie Ogawa - Competed in the beginner 8-10yr old female division in both Kata and Kumite and was able to get a Sliver medal in Kata. She had a very big division and did very well in taking 2nd place. She did a very good job and we are all very proud of her as well.

Kona Ogawa - Competed in the 10-12yr old division and over the course of 2 days faced some of the very best competitor's he has ever competed against. He fought nearly 10 matches and had brown and black belts from foreign countries as well as from the states in his division and amongst 30 other's he was able to walk away with a Silver medal in Kata and a Bronze medal in Kumite. Amazing job!
